Recent furniture projects

Over the past few months I have found and been given a few pieces of furniture. Almost all of them looked rather sad, outdated, and some even broken. My most awesome hubby fixed a few broken pieces, and I painted them. Now we have some nice useable furniture ready to sell! The first piece is an end table that had a fairly nice top on it. The legs were yuck, so they were given a new lease on life with a fresh coat of antique white paint and glaze. It took forever to tape off the round legs... but I think it was worth it! I found a desk that had great potential at our local Habitat Store. It was sad when I found it, a few broken pieces, spray painted a hideous black, and looking quite lonely. Even though I only had my Honda with me that day, I managed to rescue it and bring it home. It didn't quite fit in the back, but since my son is always up for an adventure with his crazy mom, we decided to make it work and get it home with it hanging out the back! When I got it home I realized that it had the same bones as a nightstand that I had been given. I made sure to paint the nightstand the same color. After repairs, sanding, priming, paint, antique stain and some wax; it has been reborn!!! I think they make a nice pair now!

My Corner

I have a little corner of the world, where I sell products I have found, made, or upgraded. It is fun to find treasures or 'junk' headed to the dump, rescue it, and give it new life! Check out my 'corner' at This Old House at 10611 E Trent Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99206, open Tues-Sat 11-4.
